"Can't really say anything that has not been already said only to say I am in 100% agreement with you all...but for all of you that have been recuperating good for you! I have not really had the chance yet...I arrived in Kelowna last night and went straight to the pub! What a time! My voice is almost back and I need it for this week as I will be singing and drinking again to my curling friends in BC! Thanks for the wonderful memories and I hope to see you all in the near future. Let me know if any of you are ever coming to the rock and we'll have fun! I promise you that!

Thanks again!

Andrew Mercer"

"Awesome job on the spiel by the way, that was my first charity event and wow! that's all I have to say. U and ur organizing committee did a fantastic job and if you'll have me back next year, I'd be more than happy to come. Brad Jacobs"

"What an awesome time, I think I'm finally back to normal... today was a rough go at work. Well done Tim and the rest of the executive as well as the Rod Bosch and the rest of the Thunder Bay committee I am so accustomed too. You all did a wonderful job. Thank you for keeping this beautiful tradition alive. To all the old friends and also the new, sorry for not saying bye (I think I slept till 1:00 in the afternoon on Sunday) I loved meeting you all and I look forward to seeing you all next year if not before. Thanks for the blast.

Have a great summer!

Mike Assad"

"I'm going to go out on a limb and switch things up a bit because as Andrew Mercer said there's not a lot we can say that hasn't already been said. I'm going to list off the things that upset me this weekend so here goes:

1 - The bartenders refused to cut me off despite my best efforts causing me an eye-piercing hangover which I am still working on kicking. AT the time I thought it was a great feature to have at the bonspiel but you know what they say about hindsight.
2 - Despite three separate attempts at losing my jacket the host committee kept returning it to me unharmed. Honestly Tim, you really dropped the ball on that one, the last thing I wanted to do this weekend was come home with an equal amount of clothes as I left with.
3 - I was never told that to win this thing you had to curl well. If I had known this early on I wouldn't have had those last 8 beers before the final.
4 - Cherie-Ann did not make out with me regardless of me putting my absolutely smoothest moves out there I possibly could have. I'm actually impressed that she had the willpower to resist my charm. Raincheck Cherie?

Alright, with all kidding aside it was a great weekend. As expected I witnessed a host committee that was dedicated to the success of every aspect of this bonspiel. From making the skips feel welcome, to raising money for a great cause which hits close to home for so many people, to even keeping my fleece jacket no further than 2 committee members away at all times you did a fantastic job Tim. You and your team should be proud of what you accomplished. Thank you for such a great weekend. I really enjoyed meeting all of the skips this weekend and I hope we can do it again soon, except for Schille who may have stolen my thunder as the weekend gong show. Alright, that's it for me, I think it's time to go work on kicking this 3-day hangover.

PS. If anyone is emptying their bags and find a spare dignity that looks like it belongs to me please pop that in the mail because it seems as though I lost mine over the weekend.

"What an awesome 26th rendition in Sudbury. The gang from Thunder Bay could not have found a better location nor a finer host committee to continue such a special tradition.

It was great to see the local organizing committee, and their sponsors and club staff, take such pride in maintaining past event traditions while also looking towards developing their own identity in the future.

Thank you all for a wonderful experience! By-the-way: I might be out of touch from 10am until noon for the next week or so as I will be receiving dialyses!

"What a great weekend. Hats off to Tim Phillips and staff and all who worked on this event including the Thunder Bay connection. Being a traditionalist its great that the new committee saw fit to keep some of the things that were in place at Thunder Bay alive. This kind of commitment shows the kind of curling spirit which is alive and well in Sudbury. To all my new friends - Go join AA. To all my old friends - Go have your liver checked as there can't be much left to it. Everybody have a great summer and I'm sure we will meet somewhere on tour the fall.

"Id be flat out lying if I said my hydration level was anywhere near 4%. In fact I dont think the 20 bottles of water I have drank have even dented what I need to consume. The only thing that I can see that hasnt been said is that I finally felt that I was at the same skill level as everyone else on the ice... i mean I really felt at home and stilll went 1-3! Ill get better some day... Practice makes perfect. I agree with Taren on the terrible bartending... I began ordering malibu in great quantitys... single.. double... triple... quad... whatever five is... then six shots per drink. It took her till I ordered the octagon to say no, perhaps cause she didnt know how to ring it into the till!

Tim I must congratulate you on a fantastic event, and I cant thank you enough for making the mistake of considering me a celebrity. I would love to do it again, although Im only speaking for my brain and not my insides, they can shut up and take it! thanks again Tim, your a real peach.

Chris Schille "

"Agreed with all, Tim is a peach......when I heard it was in Sudbury and that Tim was in charge of hospitality I first off said that is the sickest thing I ever heard. having the man who would lead all the parties in charge of the parties, then I knew that there was no chance I could miss this. Great job on the switch over but we will always miss T-Bay, glad that some of the crew made it down!

Having said that, I gotta run out and catch my dog sled ride home. Should be home in a few days.....just found halve a toe attached to my shoe, so maybe it was me.

Im still looking for the people who beat me with soap in pillow cases however, as my body aches yet I have no bruises (thank god)..

"Just when I was running out of cartoon characters I met all of you Celebes at the OLD now NEW Heart to Heart. I'll have enough cartoon ideas to get me through a couple of seasons...that includes on ice activities as well as off.
All the emails have drawn the button...a FANtastic slide from Thunder Bay to Sudbury...thanks Tim. You did bring in a winning bunch of skips of young and old (thank God mostly young) for a truly classy and worthwhile event.
Hey, everyone have a good and safe summer... proud to have been part of it.

"To the organizers of the spiel I will say Great Job, if anyone says they could have done a better job they’d be lying. Great job of picking the Skips for the Weekend, you encorporated the young with the Old and they got along like they were friends for the last 20 years even though some of them were not even born yet…hmmmmm

Can’t wait till next year up on the Rock in the Hot Tub, the full body slider suit, the lazy boy out on the ice mmmmmmm.

p.s. Brought my lunch to work in my new Superman Lunch Pail today, losing is my specialty

"WOW. Best bonspiel ever. From the second we landed in Toronto, the fun never stopped. Thanks a bunch to everyone who made that happen. I didn't know it was humanly possible to have so much fun in one weekend!

Now it all seems like it was just a dream...

"What a weekend ! I had a blast.

Thanks Tim for having me and for the fantastic work. It's was very nice to see Denise, Bubba, Carl and Rod from Thunderbay (I think they were the 4 from T-B).

I can't wait for my liver to settle down so I can play golf !

Have a good summer and see you on the ice !

Martin Ferland "

"Thanks a bunch for having us down to the heart's 26th, as your committee did a great job and we enjoyed giving a helping hand where we could..

I believe the paint stir sticks worked out great giving you some added extra cash and Colleen -- aka -- bubbalicious worked me with an iron fist >> I might even have a few bruises where she hit me once in a while <<

I think the young and "older experienced" curlers were a great mix and I think our little crew from T.Bay ..... well two little guys, one cute girl and that would leave me as the large one could be tricked into helping again in 2008....

Keep us in mind, as my liver should be back to normal by next year..

Bubba "

"Tim Phillips, congrats to you and your committee (including that helpful crew from Thunder Bay of course) on a great and successful weekend for a great cause! Hopefully the participants had as much fun as us "celebrities", and will be pounding down the door to get in next year.

Can't wait until then. Have a happy and healthy summer and I'll see you all next year.

"Now that I am finally recuperated and able to function I thought id send by a quick email to everyone I met this past weekend!

I just wanted to thank everyone who took so much time to put all of the amazing things that happened this past weekend together and possible, as I probably was not in any condition to truly show my gratitude on Sunday. I met so many new friends and people that I will keep in touch with for a long time to come. As this was my first charity event I have played in I really didn’t know what to expect from the weekend especially when it started off with Joanne getting body slammed into the concrete, between that and constantly having a drink in my hand I really didn't know how long us "youngins" would last! But, I would like to believe we battled through and tried our best to keep up with the charity spiel veterans of the group, don't get me wrong we have ALOT to learn..But I’m sure over time we'll get the hang of it!

Thanks again to Tim and the committee I truly had an amazing time and it was great meeting you all! Thanks for everything!! Sudbury and all of the participants showed us a GREAT time, for this past weekend being my first time there, I was totally impressed! Haha =) Im going to miss you all!! Have a great summer!

Kaylyn Park "

"Timmy Phillips -- take a bow -- you pulled it off beautifully -- a great mix of skips (when teenagers can interact with senior citizens ya know you picked good!) and a wonderful chance to introduce the fine folks of sudbury to charity curling (where were they all Saturday night? - did we wipe them out by then HA)...

As for me - the only thing more amazing than seeing me dance three days in a row was bringing a tear to my eye saturday - that was powerful (great job of taking over in the clutch harry!) And for you youngen's - if you couldnt relate to all of that emotion - you will in 20 years. It truly made this seem like H2H 26 - something I never thought you'd pull off.

As for everyone else - you drink way too much. I thought Kaylynn and Joanne should have shared some of that energy with us who lacked it - including my roomie (although it was fun walking into my room and seeing Nose fully clothed and sound asleep - I hope you saw us waving to you as we flew over you yesterday on our way to Toronto.)

Thanks all for a great weekend - old friends and new ones - thats curling -- congrats Timmy -- pass along two thumbs up (and one liver down) to your committee!!!!
